Important Measures For Ginger Plantation
Hello Dear Farmers,
- Plough the land 1-2 feet deep before ginger plantation and the soil should be well heated in the sunlight.
- As the rhizomes of ginger grows in the soil, the land where water accumulates should be avoided for cultivation. Otherwise, water accumulates in the soil and decaying of rhizomes will increase.
- Ginger Plantation should be done by ridges and furrow method.
- Soil testing should be done and spread the basal dose accordingly.
- Selection of seeds is important while planting ginger crop. Seeds should be of good quality, healthy, 3-5 cm in length, 20 25 grams in weight and those seeds with enough eyes to root 2-3 shoots.
- Before planting the rhizomes, the seeds should be treated with chemical fungicides and insecticides to avoid fungal diseases.
